No*Changes round-up.

We've all emerged from our Easter chocolate comas and are now around 80% cocoa solids. But let's not stress with following the sugar crash, cause it's Springtime baby! We're talking about how all kinds of talented people and brands are using colour, packaging, photography, and illustration to bring those sweet, "it's almost Summer" vibes straight to your face. So let's sit back, relax, and bask in the glow of some Springtime creativity.

Chris (Simpsons Artist)

I look forward to Chris’s illustrations more than any chocolate egg or hot cross bun when Easter rolls around. And his 2023 piece did not disappoint. Chris is like Batman, but for cartoons - no one knows who he really is, but he's a legend for his hilarious and intentionally juvenile caricatures and rants. Working with publications like NME, FHM, The Independent, and The Guardian, he’s also written three books and most recently has joined forces with Northern Monk to design some very special cans of IPA.

Steph Ramplin

Steph’s colour palettes always inject those Spring/Summer vibes to everything she does. A Bristolian animator and illustrator now based in London, her work is all about celebrating everyday people in their everyday situations. Her illustrations are full of cute characters, kitschy outfits, and a wickedly sarcastic sense of humour, playing with bold silhouettes and vibrant colours.

With an impressive client list such as Spotify, Apple, Melissa, Lazy Oaf, Meta, New York Times, Nick Jr, Universal Music and Costa Coffee, Steph’s work is rightly being enjoyed by more people around the world.

Magic Spoon Cereal

It’s not what you think, we’ve not strayed into the land of psychedelic mushroom-infused cereal just yet. This sugar-free, high-protein cereal brand, Magic Spoon, has stormed markets with its technicolour packaging. Gander, a design shop in Brooklyn, New York, designed the brand's packaging with bright colours and child-like wonder at the forefront of their design, a reminder that healthy, ‘adult’ brands don’t have to lose the fun.

Muxxi

Based in Guatemala City, illustrator and character designer Muxxi creates wonderfully whimsical worlds using colour palettes that have become synonymous with her work. With clients including Nickelodeon, Adobe, Google, Krispy Kreme and Microsoft, Muxxi’s quirky style whisks brands to other worlds.

I’m holding out for Cartoon Network to join forces with Muxxi for the animated series of my dreams.

Prince Gyasi

A visual artist based in Ghana, Prince Gyasi’s expressive photography hits you in the face with vibrant colour palettes. His ability to evoke powerful emotions through the use of colour in his images is elemental, owing to his synesthesia. This neurological condition causes an atypical overlap between the senses, leading to phenomena such as perceiving colours as sounds or associating colours with particular words or letters. Consequently, Gyasi employs his unique internal colour code to imbue his work with complex narratives.

His work focuses on capturing the beauty and diversity of African culture, with a particular emphasis on showcasing the resilience and creativity of Ghanaian youth.
